Participatory Grantmaking (PGM)

Participatory Grantmaking (PGM) is a nontraditional form of grantmaking that allows award recipients to be involved in funding decisions. Every process is different, as it is designed to meet the needs of those who are receiving the funds and tailored to meet the capacity needs of the partners involved while encouraging growth in organizational capacity and skill building.

In 2023, the FFORC team piloted a form of participatory grantmaking called Network Voting with our community garden partners and the help of our Community Advisory Board (CAB). We are currently engaged in our second iteration of the process! Updates on the projects from 2023 are provided below.
