STRENGTHEN SNAP-ED, STRENGTHEN NORTH CAROLINA

SNAP-Ed is an essential part of building a healthy and productive North Carolina. To explain this, we have put together an informational paper describing what SNAP-Ed is and why is it vital to North Carolina. Additionally, our FFORC team supports several SNAP-Ed projects across eight (8) Congressional Districts. We have compiled some information about the impacts and outcomes from our work in each. Take a look and feel free to share!

SNAP-Ed & the 2025 Farm Bill
The Association of SNAP Nutrition Education Administrators (ASNNA) has compiled information highlighting the critical role of the SNAP-Ed program in advancing national food security. This cost-effective strategy improves not only the health and food security of low-income individuals and families, it supports the agricultural economy, contributes to the reduction of long-term healthcare costs, and helps build resilient communities nationwide. Here at FFORC, we support multiple projects across 18 counties in North Carolina that encourage individuals and families to grow their own food, provide education to enable the preparation of healthy nutritious meals, create safer places for walking and physical activity, increase access to farmer's markets, and increase community health. We are proud to to be SNAP-Ed. Read more in the image to the right.
