A Safer Fairview, Thanks to Community Collaboration!

🚸 The Improving Safety of Rainey Ave. Campaign has been a huge success, and we’re thrilled to share that key traffic calming measures have been implemented.
Key Achievements:
[1] Installation of a four-way stop at Torain Street and Rainey Avenue.
[2] Addition of speed bumps for safer streets.
This community-driven effort to improve pedestrian safety and create a more walkable neighborhood in Fairview was made possible through incredible partnerships with the Town of Hillsborough, the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners, Fairview Community Watch, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and UNC FFORC.
Special thanks to Stephanie Trueblood and the Town’s Public Spaces, Public Works, and Police Departments for their unwavering support. Town staff provided technical expertise and policy guidance, while community groups like Fairview Community Watch amplified residents’ voices, ensuring the needs of the neighborhood were heard.
These improvements make Fairview a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.
This is a true testament to what community collaboration can achieve!

🚸 ¡Un Fairview más Seguro, Gracias a la Colaboración Comunitaria!
La campaña para Mejorando la Seguridad en Rainey Ave. ha sido un gran éxito, y estamos emocionados de compartir que se han implementado medidas clave para calmar el tráfico.
✨ Logros Clave:
[1] Instalación de una señal de alto de cuatro vías en la intersección de Torain Street y Rainey Avenue.
[2] Incorporación de tres reductores/topes de velocidad en la calle Rainey para calles más seguras.
Este esfuerzo comunitario para mejorar la seguridad peatonal y crear un vecindario más transitable en Fairview fue posible gracias a increíbles asociaciones con el Pueblo de Hillsborough, la Junta de Comisionados de Hillsborough, Fairview Community Watch, Habitat for Humanity del Condado de Orange y UNC FFORC.
