Event Recap: Public Transit Initiative!

Transit Equity | February 5, 2025

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, Town of Chapel Hill, we had another fun event for the Weavers Grove Community!

Participants learned about Travel Training including:

- How to get on and off the bus

- Using apps to map their routes

- Information about Chapel Hill Transit

Attendees received one-on-one assistance with these applications and had the chance to meet Ms. Pat, a Chapel Hill bus operator. She provided valuable information about the town's transit resources, took us on a bus tour to key destinations, and guided us through the process of putting a bike on the bus rack! 🚲🚌

Additionally, Alyson West, Safe Routes to School Coordinator from the Town of Chapel Hill, provided more information about their program and initiatives.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event and made it a fun and engaging adventure!

Learning about public transit can save time, money and it's good for our environment 🌍
