🤝 Fairview Youth in Action Kicks Off Summer Internship 💡

Last week, we launched the summer edition of the Fairview Youth in Action internship program, welcoming a new cohort of high schoolers ready to invoke change their community. Over two days, they moved from the classroom to the streets and dove into both the structure of the program and the community's stories.

On Tuesday, the group got oriented through workshops and team-building activities, laying the groundwork for the collaborative, hands-on work that defines the program. By Thursday, they were out in the neighborhood, completing a community scavenger hunt and conducting oral histories with leaders from the Fairview Community Watch. Through those conversations, interns began to learn about the key moments and people who have shaped Fairview into what it is today.

We're also thrilled to share that, thanks to PORCH Hillsborough, Fairview Youth in Action is once again part of a summer program providing FREE Farmer Foodshare boxes to local families. This partnership reflects what the program is all about — connecting young people to the community they're working to strengthen, while supporting local farmers and neighbors in need.

We're grateful for this opportunity and excited for everything the summer holds. Follow along as the cohort takes on ten weeks of learning, leadership, and community action. 💙💚
