At the end of March, we had the pleasure of co-hosting an after-hours bus ride for residents of the Fairview community in Hillsborough, in partnership with Orange County Public Transportation (OPT).
The evening kicked off at the Dorothy N. Johnson Community Center, where community members boarded the bus for a guided ride along the Orange Loop. For many attendees, it was a chance to experience the route firsthand and see what their local public transit system has to offer.
We came prepared to make the evening both informative and celebratory. Participants received printed information about the Orange Loop to take home, and Locopops were on hand to keep things sweet. To close out the night, community members eager to add active transportation to their everyday routines received free bikes, helmets, lights, and reflectors.
By bringing resources, information, and neighbors together in one place, we hope to make choosing transit and active travel feel not just possible, but joyful. A big thank you to OPT for their partnership and to everyone in the Fairview community who came out to ride with us. We can't wait to keep building on this work together.
