On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, we continued our active travel workshop series with a visit to the Rusch Hollow Habitat for Humanity community in Chapel Hill, NC.

Partnering with residents, we shared practical information on getting around the community using local transit resources including Chapel Hill Transit's HS route, the Transit smartphone app, Orange County's Mobility on Demand (MOD) service, and the WZ-Rider program. We also took requests for bikes to help residents expand their travel options. 🚲

This workshop was delivered in both English and Spanish, with bilingual support provided by Ivonne Headley, a doctoral student in Nutrition at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Offering multilingual programming ensures that all community members can access the information they need to travel safely and independently. 🌎🙌

A special thank you to Rusch Hollow resident Linda Parson for welcoming us and helping make this event possible right in her own driveway! 🏘️💚
