SNAP-Ed’s Role In Strengthening Food And Nutrition Security

FFORC | April 30, 2025

The Association of SNAP Nutrition Education Administrators (ASNNA) has compiled information highlighting the critical role of the SNAP-Ed program in advancing national food security. As noted in the graphic found at the link in our bio, this cost-effective program improves not only the health and food security of low-income individuals and families, it supports the agricultural economy, contributes to the reduction of long-term healthcare costs, and helps build resilient communities nationwide.

Our FFORC team at UNC ( @uncresearch ) supports multiple projects across 18 counties in North Carolina that encourage individuals and families to grow their own food, provide education to enable the preparation of healthy nutritious meals, create safer places for walking and physical activity, increase access to farmers’ markets, and increase community health. We are proud to be SNAP-Ed.
