šŸ‘£ Weavers Grove/Hope NC Turkey Trot 🦃

What better way to embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving than through community connection and movement! šŸ¤

On November 23rd, we partnered with Hope NC, B3, and Habitat for Humanity's Weavers Grove community for their Turkey Trot event—marking our team's first collaboration with organizations serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Attendees experienced active movement through several stations:

🚲 🄤Bike-powered smoothie makers (bicycles mounted on trainers to remove the complication of balance!)

šŸ¤øā€ā™‚ļøStretching demonstrations led by Nora from Fleet Feet Carrboro

šŸ§ŽšŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøInjury prevention education with physical therapists Lee and Anastasia from Breakthrough PT Carrboro

šŸ‘Ÿ1 mile walking loop around the Weavers Grove Community

We are especially thankful to celebrate milestones like Derek Clark of Habitat for Humanity (image 3) creating his first bike smoothie, and the installation of our inaugural "Weave Your Way" walking sign, pictured here with Weavers Grove homeowner Judith (image 1).

This Thanksgiving weekend reminded us that health equity and community wellness are built through partnerships, shared experiences, and accessible opportunities for all.
